The rotor seal is the dynamic part of the mechanical seal. The rotor will be carried along by the shaft and will be pushed by one or more springs against the sliding surface of the stator. In addition to the shaft diameter and outer diameter, the overall length is of great importance in choosing the correct rotor seal.
